The Foundation of the New Jersey Alliance for Action is a tax-exempt,
non-profit corporation dedicated to improving life in New Jersey through
research and public education projects that will provide a better
understanding of our state.
The mission of the Foundation of the New Jersey Alliance for Action is to
serve as a catalyst for initiatives, which will improve the quality of life
of every resident of New Jersey. It will seek to enhance the economic
wellbeing, the environment, the infrastructure and all those areas which
affect how the people of our State live, work and raise families and spend
their leisure time.
To carry out that mission, the Foundation is committed to gain funding for
sponsorship of programs and project, which can be implemented to improve
the quality of life of our citizens. It will conduct research, inform and
educate the public on those issues, as well as on how specific partnership
between the public and private sectors will benefit every citizen of New
Jersey.
The Foundation is overseen by a board of trustees composed of some of New
Jersey's most prominent business, labor, professional and educational
leaders.
The continuing goal of advancing information and public support of the
state's complex systems of transportation received a major boost in 2003
from The Foundation of the New Jersey Alliance for Action. The Foundation
sponsored an attractive pocket-size pamphlet on key information about
transportation infrastructure from highways and local roads to public
transit to aviation and ports, titled appropriately "New Jersey
Transportation Fast Facts."
Hundreds of statistics were reduced to a clear, concise source of data
highlighted with colorful graphics. The pamphlet was designed to be useful
to public officials at all levels of government faced with decisions on
transportation projects as well as to business and labor leaders and the
general public.
The Foundation has produced an impressive series of reports and studies:
- 1991 “New Jersey Infrastructure Study” a landmark study which identified $95 billion in infrastructure needs
through the end of the century.
- 1994 “Intermodal Coordination Study: A Survey and Consultant Recommendations of Containerized
Transportation in Northern New Jersey”
