SPECIAL REPORT
In the first key appointment of his new administration, Governor-elect Chris Christie today named former State Senator Richard Bagger as his Chief of Staff. Bagger is a 49 year-old Pfizer executive.
In other key appointments, none of which require State Senate confirmation, Christie announced:
Jeff Chiesa, a 44 year-old former federal prosecutor and executive director of Christie’s transition team, will be Chief Counsel.
Bill Stepien, Christie’s 31 year-old campaign manager, will be Deputy Chief of Staff.
Kevin O’Dowd, a 37 year-old Assistant U.S. Attorney, will be Deputy Chief Counsel.
Christie announced the appointments at a Statehouse news conference. He said he hopes to introduce more members of his team – such as cabinet nominees – next week.
