CASINO REINVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY SPENDING BIG BUCKS ON CONSTRUCTION
The Casino Reinvestment Authority (CRDA) has $10 billion “on the table” for construction projects in Atlantic City and throughout the state. That was the report given to Alliance for Action members and friends at the most recent “Meet the Players” session.

The news came from Thomas Carver, Executive Director of the Authority, who said CRDA has invested more than $350 million in affordable housing. He disclosed that CRDA and the State Department of Transportation are working together on a regional transportation master plan for the Atlantic City metropolitan area for the next 25 to 50 years.

In other items, Carver reported that Morgan Stanley intends to build a hotel/casino in Atlantic City; that $100 million will be spent to improve the boardwalk; and the redevelopment of the now closed Bader Field airport of 150 acres is not likely to come for 10 years. He also predicted that current casino employment of 45,000 jobs has the potential to grow to 75,000 jobs.
