Leaders of New Jersey’s pharmaceutical and medical technology industry will report on “Construction in Challenging Times” on Monday, March 30, in Trenton.

The program will also feature representatives of state government involved in economic growth, academia and organized labor. It will be hosted by the New Jersey Alliance for Action and the HelathCare Institute of New Jersey at the Lafayette Yard Marriott Conference Center, Trenton, beginning with registration at 8:00 a.m. followed by the program at 9:00 a.m.

Speakers for the industry include:

  • James Breen, Vice President, Facilities on Johnson & Johnson’s New Jersey activities
  • Louis Fedele, Vice President, Facilities, for Bristol-Meyers Squibb
  • Aris Gennadios, Vice President and General Manager, Catalent Pharma Solutions
Other presentations will be:
  • Bob Franks, President of the HealthCare Institute, on why leadership by the pharmaceutical/medical technology industry is vital to the state.
  • Jack Donnelly, Deputy Chief of the Governor’s Office of Economic Growth.
  • Dr. Aaron Fichtner, the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University, on the economic impact of the life sciences for construction labor and New Jersey’s general economy.
A panel discussion will focus on how the impact of capital construction goes far beyond the state. The moderator will be Bill Healey, Executive Vice President of the HealthCare Institute. Panel members will include Dr. Fichtner, Thomas Manning, President of the New Jersey Pipe Trades union, Ridgeley Hutchinson, Business Representative, Carpenters Local Union #781 and Hon. Peter Cantu, Mayor, Plainsboro Township.
